Two PHMS Teachers Recognized For Supervision and Curriculum Development

Paxon Hollow Middle School Teachers Dianne Blickle and Michelle Bodnar with the Snag in the River Award for 2012 from the Delaware Valley Region PA Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

BROOMALL–Delaware Valley Region PA Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development recently awarded teachers Dianne Blickle and Michelle Bodnar with the Snag in the River Award for 2012.

The purpose of the award is to give public recognition to good teaching. The award's title, "Snag in the River," is based on a description in the book "Among School Children" by Tracy Kidder of good teachers as those "who put snags in the river of children passing by, and over the years, they redirect hundreds of lives."

The Delaware Valley Region PA Association for Supervisors and Curriculum Development consists of 250 educators in four counties. Blickle and Bodnar were selected in Delaware County.

According to Kidder, "Many people find it easy to imagine unseen webs of malevolent conspiracy in the world, and they are not always wrong.  But there is also an innocence that conspires to hold humanity together, and it is made of people who can never fully know the good that they have done.”
