Worrall Students Help Collect Over 100 Toys for Kids in Need

Worrall Elementary School participated in three service projects this year.

BROOMALL– has six student leaders, who are all fifth graders chosen for demonstrating leadership skills, initiative, and are a positive role-model. These six students helped facilitate three service projects so far this school year.

The first service project involved collecting supplies for the armed forces in Afghanistan. They packaged and labeled over 20 boxes of wanted items sent to American service men and women overseas.

The students also organized a food drive and were able to collect over 300 non-perishable foods. These items were donated to families in need of help for the holiday season.

Lastly, and most recently, the students organized the toy collection at Worrall and collected over 100 new toys for families in need.

To organize these projects, they made fliers that were sent home and hung around the school, made announcements to remind students about the collections, collected and boxed up the goods or toys.
