Delco Seniors Get Physical in Annual Sports Week

The annual Delaware County Senior Games was held from June 14-24 this year.

This year's annual Delaware County Senior Games is held from June 14-24 at various venues throughout the county, which is geared towards those aged 50 and older to encourage physical activity, socialization and community development.

Sponsored by the Delaware County Council and in cooperation with the Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging (COSA), the sporting events include golf, bowling, tennis, basketball, swimming and track & field.

"The Delaware County Senior Games encourages residents to stay socially and physically active throughout the year," Delaware County Council Chairman Jack Whelan said. "Residents who participate in the games build solid friendships. Those friendships and activities help our seniors maintain a healthy level of physical and mental fitness."
