Episcopal Academy Lacrosse Teams Participate in Fundraising Effort
Episcopal Academy takes split decision in the annual Katie Samson lacrosse festival on April 30.
RADNOR–'s boys and girls lacrosse teams were among the 54 schools that competed in the held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday at Radnor High School. Â
In the girls' game, *Episcopal defeated Conestoga 13 to 9, and the boys defeated Radnor 9 to 4.
There were a total of 27 games on seven different fields. Besides the lacrosse action, there were amusements for children and numerous vendors selling food and all types of lacrosse gear. Teams from the Magee Rehabilitation Center played wheelchair rugby and basketball demonstrating that a disability can be overcome. Â

The first of the 11 annual events was held to raise funds to pay the medical costs of Katie Samson, a Radnor High School lacrosse player who incurred a spinal injury in an accident 12 years ago.
Since its beginning, the festival has raised more than $1 million for spinal injury research. Samson is an assistant coach of the Radnor High School girls lacrosse team.Â
