2012 Summer Camps In The Marple Newtown Area

With two months until school is out for the summer, this local Patch mom started to do some major research on summer programs for her two boys and discovered the Marple Newtown area is loaded with amazing opportunities.

I survived Spring Break 2012. No, I didn't just get back from a wild week in Cancun. I'm actually referring to surviving my children's spring break. Nine whole days of them, here, all day with me. Talking, begging, crying, fighting, cuddling, needing. Do they let me work? No. Do they mess up the house? Yes. Do they want me to do things with them and have fun with them? Yes.

And so do I, of course. I love being with my boys, but there is a price. I got nothing done, I couldn't get my hours in for work, my house is a wreck and there is no food in the house.

I was pondering this yesterday when I started having heart palpitations. Spring break is only nine days, but summer break is fast approaching. So, I started to count. There are 68 days left until school is out. Yes, moms of Marple Newtown, we have just 68 days until the kids are home with us for 81 days. Let me repeat, that's 81. I did the math.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love being with my kids and I enjoy trying to make every day count with them. But 81 days is serious. So, even though I had an empty house for the first time in nine days, and I should have been cleaning or grocery shopping, I instead turned to the Internet to start planning those 81 days.

I already knew about a few camps in the area, but my kids are growing up and have different interests this year. Luckily, we live in an area that has so many options. Between the traditional day camps to a plethera of educational summer programs, my kids can do anything they want this summer and I won't have to drive far, which is ideal considering the cost of gasoline.
