What's Closed in Marple Newtown on July 4th

We cook out on Independence Day for a reason. Many local businesses and all government buildings will be closed in observance of the American holiday. However, you'll still be able to find food and drinks for your backyard barbecue.

Check out the list below to see what's closed on this Independence Day.

  • Government offices–Both the and township municipal buildings will be closed as well as the county offices. 
  • Banks–Many banks in the area will be closed for the day. 
  • Libraries–Both the and will be closed to observe the holiday.
  • Post offices–All post offices will be closed to observe the holiday.
  • Wine & Spirits–The Wine & Spirits beverage location in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center will be closed; many other beverage and alcohol shops will remain open but with limited hours, including Broomall Beverages (open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.); Newtown Square Beverages (open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.); and Newtown Beer & Soda (open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
