Cemetery Fire

June 30 at 10:46 am, the Broomall Fire Company was dispatched to 1600 S. Sproul Road, Broomall, Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery for a brush fire.
The first arriving chief found a very large pile of landscaping debris heavily involved in fire at the rear of the cemetery property. Fire attack crews worked for over an hour with three engines and the assistance of a cemetery employee with a backhoe to extinguish the large pile.
There was no extension to nearby buildings and garages and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
Incident Commander was Chief Carl Drake of The Broomall Fire Company.
