Curious George Receives Delco SPCA's Ginger Award

The Delaware County SPCA's Rescued on the Runway was a success all around.

Noel, the second pitbull pictured with her new owner Dave Gerbstadt, was the recipient of donations from the after she was hit by a car and had to be rushed to an emergency vet. Noel had a long road to recovery that eventually ended happily, despite her leg having to be removed.

Noel and Gerbstadt were meant to be a pair, according to Delaware County SPCA's Director of Community Relations Justina Calgiano.

Calgiano said Gerbstadt was also in a severe car crash where he was struck by a tractor trailer and was not expected to live. Gerbstadt lived through his injuries and adopted Noel on the anniversary of his accident, Calgiano said.

Peter the Cat was also well-received at the Rescued on the Runway event. He is recovering well from his eye surgery, which was able to be afforded thanks to donations received prior to and at the fashion show.

Peter is currently available for adoption at the Delco SPCA.
