Salvation Army Red Kettle Collection Underway at Springfield Mall

The familiar ringing of Salvation Army bells hits Springfield Mall this holiday season.

SPRINGFIELD–The holidays are a time for shopping, baking, entertaining… and for giving.

is encouraging local residents to help their neighbors in need this holiday season by providing convenient access to Salvation Army Red Kettles.

In 2010, the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign raised more than $142 million nationwide, a new record. Contribute to one of the most recognizable charitable outreach efforts in the United States at Springfield Mall this holiday season.

Salvation Army volunteers will ring the bells daily to collect spare change donations in the iconic Red Kettles near the mall entrance next to Ruby Tuesday’s now through Dec. 24 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Donations to the Red Kettle Campaign remain in the community, supporting an array of year-round programs from providing food for the hungry to assistance for the disabled.
