Volunteers Set Up For the Friends of Newtown Library Book Sale

A preview sale will occur from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Jan. 31 with an entry fee of $3.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–The Friends of the Newtown Public Library announced their multi-day book sale starts on Tuesday, Jan. 31, and runs through Feb. 4. A preview sale will be held on the first day of the sale, Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until noon. There is a $3 entry fee for the preview sale.

The sale, which includes hardback books ($1) and paperback books ($0.50), will be held at the , located at 201 Bishop Hollow Road, Newtown Square during library hours.

"The 4,000 books are being unpacked and displayed in nearly 40 categories," reported Dorothy Elicker, chair of the semi-annual book sale in a press release.  "We are prepared for an exciting book sale," said Louise Lippert, a volunteer who spent Sunday afternoon with several others to get ready for the sale.

The sale consists of both non-fiction and fiction books, in which fiction books are alphabetized by author. Specialty books are also available for $5. According to the library, there will be plenty of free parking in the front and back of library.  Boxes and bags will be available to carry for your purchased books.

In addition, the library announced all books sold on Saturday will be half price.

Sale hours are: Jan. 31, Feb. 1, and Feb. 2, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Feb. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
