Libraries Closed Tuesday, Leaf Collection Starts in the Week Ahead

  • Halloween is Thursday
  • Marple and Newtown libraries will be closed on Oct. 29 for a county-wide training day
  • Newtown Township Board of Supervisors meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 28. Find the full agenda here
  • Leaf Collection starts this week in Marple Township
  • Teen Halloween Party at 1 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Marple Library for grades 6 to 12. Come dressed in your Halloween best. There will be a pumpkin carving competition and watch clips from the best monster movies of all time.
  • Halloween Party at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 at Marple Library. Come in a costume a bring your own pumpkin to decorate materials. For grades Kindergarten to 3rd. Registration required. 
  • PRC Newtown Square Farmers Market at Mostardi Nursey on Wednesday 
  • Purchase the 2014 Free DVD/Videogame Rental Card on sale for $35 until Nov. 1 at Marple Library. Rent four FREE DVDS/videogames everytime you visit Marple Library in 2014 with this rental card. After Nov. 1, the card will cost $50.
  • Two for Tuesday DVD rentals at Marple Library. Rent two DVDS for the price of one. Two new releases at $2.12, two older releases for $1.06 or one of each for $1.53. Children's DVDs are always free.
  • Live a Healthy Life Workshop from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Surrey in Media. The workshop for adults with diabetes, cardiac or pulmonary disease, arthritis, anxiety or any other ongoing health condition can learn how to communicate effectively with doctors and family, eat well, relax, manage pain and gain control of your life. The free 6-week workshop for adults age 60 and older who live in Delaware County will be offered every Wednesday through Oct. 30.   • Darby Paoli Road remains closed indefinitely due to bridge damage in Radnor Township.
  • Marple Newtown High School Varsity Football at Lower Merion High School at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 2
  • Paxon Hollow Middle School Orchestra/Band Parent meeting at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29
  • Russell Elementary School Halloween Parade and Party at 2 p.m. on Oct. 31
  • Worrall Elementary School Halloween Parade and Party at 2 p.m. on Oct. 31
