New Year, Festival of Lights End in the Week Ahead

• Find local New Year's Eve events here. 
• Winter recess for all Marple Newtown School District schools ends Jan. 2
• Marple Township Planning Commission meeting at 7 p.m. on Jan. 2
• Free DVD rentals at Marple Township Library on Jan. 3
• Downton Abbey Tea at Marple Township Library at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 3. Dress like your favorite Downton character (optional); bring your favorite teacup and watch the final episode of last season with other fans. Space is limited and register required with a fee of $5 for food. 
• The Festival of Lights at Rose Tree Park runs every evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. through Jan. 4
• 2014 Dog license now available.
• New Year's Day is Wednesday.
