  • Marple Township Board of Commissioners workshop meeting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2. The 2014 Preliminary Budget will be discussed and Aqua Pennsylvania and PennDOT will present to the public a design of the Route 252 Bridge Replacement over Springton Dam Spillway Project. Find the full agenda here
  • Marple Newtown Board of School Directors reorganization meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 and the regular meeting to follow at 8:30 p.m.
  • Marple Township Planning Commission meeting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5
  • Deer hunts are scheduled in Ridley Creek State Park starting Dec. 5 through Dec. 12, in an effort to control the deer population.
  • Winter Fantasy Chorus at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the Delaware County Courthouse: 80 elementary school singers from across the county will sing and ring in the holiday season.
  • Historian and Temple University professor Andrew C. Isenberg will visit the Marple Public Library at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5 to discuss his new book, Wyatt Earp: A Vigilante Life.
  • Author Chris Malone will hold a book signing for his book The Human Brand: How We Relate to People Products, and Companies at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5 at Newtown Public Library.
  • Gingerbread House decorating at noon on Dec. 7 at Newtown Public Library. Registration required. Best of ages 2 and up. 
  • The Festival of Lights at Rose Tree Park runs every evening beginning at 5:30 p.m.
  • PRC Newtown Square Farmers Market at Mostardi Nursey on Wednesday

  • Two for Tuesday DVD rentals at Marple Library. Rent two DVDS for the price of one. Two new releases at $2.12, two older releases for $1.06 or one of each for $1.53. Children's DVDs are always free.
  • Darby Paoli Road remains closed in Radnor Township.
  • Diaper and formula drive for the Maternity Care Coalition of Delaware County runs through Dec. 5 at Newtown Library. The library will accept donations of diapers sizes 1 to 5; partial packages are fine. Formula must be unopened.
  • Dec. 5 deadline to send letter of intent to fill vacancies on the following Newtown Township Boards: Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board, Municipal Authority, Leisure Services, Library Board, Bartram Bridge Joint Commission and Environmental Advisory Council. Interested parties should forward a resume or a letter of intent to the township offices. 
  • Prospective students to visit Marple Newtown High School on Dec. 5
  • Russell Elementary School 5th Grade Winter Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 4
