Week Ahead: Great Gatsby Party, School Board Meeting

• Great Gatsby Party at Marple Library from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 27. Wear your best 1920's-inspired costume and enjoy fine food and drink as we watch the new version of The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Advanced registration is required.
  
• Marple Newtown Board of School Directors meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 24. Find the full agenda here.
• Newtown Township Board of Supervisors meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 23. Two new police officers will be sworn in. Find the full agenda here.

• Marple Township Environmental Advisory Commission on Sept. 24
• Crozer Health Series: Blood Pressure from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 24. A clinician from the Crozer Keystone Health System will discuss blood pressure and cardiovascular disease. Also get a free screening
  
• Crozer Health Series: Diabetes from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 25. Bring your questions for the clinician.  
  
• Marple Township Ambulance Corp. will offer free CPR classes from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 24. Registration is required. Contact Maria Price at mprice@marpleems.com for more information
• Live a Healthy Life Workshop from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Surrey in Media. The workshop for adults with diabetes, cardiac or pulmonary disease, arthritis, anxiety or any other ongoing health condition can learn how to communicate effectively with doctors and family, eat well, relax, manage pain and gain control of your life. The free 6-week workshop for adults age 60 and older who live in Delaware County will be offered every Wednesday through Oct. 30.
