Do not visit the Newtown Grill! All the reviews are 100% true but I believe in forming my own decisions. Biggest mistake. I made reservations for Mother's Day at 11AM and by 12:30PM decided to stop waiting in line. There was no one taking names at the desk and everyone just standing in line hoping restaurant staff would show up at the desk. People decided to avoid the line and go directly in front of the desk which annoyed me and others who patiently waited to be seated. The line to get food was at the front and combined with the reservation line - total chaos! They ran out of plates and the plates brought out were still dirty. That is when I said enough is enough and took my entire party to La Locanda Restaurant up the street. While leaving, we heard people state they were told they had to leave based on time limits. If you can not form a proper restaurant plan to serve brunch, you should not be in business. This is an upscale restaurant that was reduced to a depression soup line. I would never visit or recommend this place. Whoever is managing this- place needs to be fired. Rule #1 - You do not overbook reservations - you should value your reputation foremost. If you want a top notch restaurant experience, visit La Locanda Restaurant. In speaking with staff, they received many Newtown Grill customers who were fed up and decided to leave too. La Locanda saved Mother's Day from being a total disaster.

I was born and raised in Broomall. I have had more work and social functions at this establishment than I can count SO imagine my disgust today. No, it wasn't the gum on the chair that did it for me. No it wasn't the 45 minuet wait that did it. I contribute two things to it. One would be upon reaching the "clean plate" station for brunch (add ten more minuets on to dig through stacks and stacks of plates covered in chunks of food.) Not a single one to be found. I asked a waitress if she could bring myself, along with the crowds of people behind me some clean plates. (One woman actually said "Maybe this is where you drop off your plates to be cleaned?" - sadly no, it wasn't.) At this moment, the manager, Mark (whom I actually booked a wedding reception with in the past) came out and said to the waitress "Forget her I need you to do something else." Leaving me along with countelss other people in both shock and .. you guessed it.. without clean plates. Mark walked past several times (at one point with an entire crew of wait staff, head titled back laughing it up ignoring the multiple "excuse me, we need help" pleas coming from myself as well as other people) while all his customers stood there with no help. After years of recommending this place to all my friends, family, and clients I have never been so disappointed. And it wasn't just the food covered (and chipped) plates, it was the fact that a manager could care so little about his paying and extremely loyal customers.
