The child protected himself in a non-violent, proactive manner. Kudos to his parents and teachers.Read More Unfortunately, the school administration and the judge are followers, not leaders.

I am proud of this mom for standing up for her son and fighting for his rights, these kids need toRead More know what being bullied feels like. What bothers me the most is the parents of these kids just look at a few of the comments listed just shows you some people dont have compassion or understanding for others, special needs or not no child deserves to have his or her pants pulled down the school has to by law make a safe environment for all kids. I would go after the School and parents of these bullies.

The Special Needs child's Civil Rights have clearly been violated. The conviction will be thrown outRead More on appeal, but generally civil trials must wait for the outcome of criminal trials. Recal that while OJ Simpson was found not guilty of the criminal offense, he was found guilty in the civil action and made to pay. One outcome doesn't necessarily influence the other.

"The Black Panther of Poetry" April 16, 2014 at 01:18 pm
Vinnie B., why are you getting upset with the criticism which is being launched against this orRead More these parents, and rightfully so. Kids are a 24/7 job and they need to be(not should be) under surveillance every second of the day (especially in this day and age). Now if one can't seem to do that and if one cant conform to that, then one does not need children!!!So having said that Vinnie B,. your getting upset over criticism toward these parents is a small price to pay compared to the evil that could have happened to this child by getting hit by a car or by getting picked up by a pedophile or any of the other numerous bad things that could have happened to the child.

Some parents will do just about anything to get on a reality show. Blame the networks for thisRead More charade and that is what it is. This was all planned....

How can you "detonate" something that doesn't contain explosives? Was this just a case ofRead More "Panic at the disco"?
jpf2361 April 16, 2014 at 11:29 am
Heywood, The Bomb Squad uses an external explosive device to try and detonate whatever is in theRead More bag.

strange how we respond just as the terrorists desire us to. the media commemorates each incident asRead More if it were a new profit center to mine for every last click. whole populations now sit in fear of another 'something' about to happen, never again, fully safe like we were in the good old days of the cold war? once these bstrds hit us deep inside our own turf we have not become stronger, but rather 'hardened', emboldened in our delusions of ultimate superiority, no longer safe on our 'island of north america'. each of these events changes us all even imperceptably, forcing us to accept their motives, their ideals, their imam imposed concept of living. we act in unison, determined to show them we are not affected, yet that very demonstration reveals our inner need to respond, to re-affirm our own injury, each of those crowd-felt sympathies we all cling to, even if for the brief moment of our 'crowd'. be strong, and further, be alert, be conspicuous in manner in which you care for each other. shy not away from those who seek your death, but do not embrace them, as they fein no challenge to seek close to your demise.

A little late, don't you think? Corbett is such a hypocrite -- When he was PA state's AG, he put 1Read More state trooper on the Sandusky child abuse case -- allowing Sandusky to continue to rape and molest God knows how many more kids -- and now, Corbett is the protector of children. Not. Corbett must go.

Not much different then what was already the law. Just another way to shift money around from oneRead More piggy bank to another. Dare was a school program and that money should of went to public education.

Typical behavior from government pigs. They steal our tax dollars, then turn around and spend themRead More on the police state they use to oppress us.
Sandy Murphey April 16, 2014 at 02:10 pm
The best part about all of this is that because there's always "OPPORTUNITY IN CRISIS",Read More this "problem" created more business for this little hydro shop. I love that the women gardeners showed so much support, and online orders increased so much, that he had to hire more people!! YEAH! The DEA helped, but I do feel sorry for those who are punished for using God's gift of nature, and a weed at that!

Mike April 16, 2014 at 01:00 pm
Reading the various posts here I am struck at the hatred we now have for one another. I believe weRead More are more divided now that at any time in our history with the exception of the Civil War. Obama is a huge success. He has managed to divide our people as no one else has in modern history. A shame that so many have stopped thinking for themselves and instead follow the masses and the political propaganda.
Stu Pidasso April 16, 2014 at 01:49 pm
Mike- there is no hate here. actually a pathetic situation when one feels he is "owed"Read More something rather than earning it by working for it. Why not move down to the inner city and live there for 6 months, then get back to us!! it should be a real eye opener for you!! I work 6-7 days a week to enjoy what I have, even though i have little time to do so, I'm not complaining, but it bothers me that i am penalized by the way of extra taxes, fee's , etc., to help those who have no intention of trying to help themselves.. I have TWO children, NOT 5, 6, or 7 simply because I cannot afford it, and would NOT EXPECT the government to take care of them for me!!!

Stu@ ask Mike( the Brown Nose) Brown what he thinks. All should be on the Gov't. A true Communist ifRead More ever.
The man bought 25 winning Quinto tickets, but threw them away.
John Child April 15, 2014 at 08:41 am
What's worse? Throwing away the winning ticket? or everybody KNOWING that I threw away the winningRead More ticket? Reminds me of the dumb joke about the old man who went to church every day to pray to win the lottery... after years of constant prayer day in and day out finally a voice came from out of the sky commanding him: "You Gotta Buy A Ticket!!" Or in this case the punch line would be: "Don't Throw Away The Ticket!!"
jessmcginley April 15, 2014 at 10:27 am
My office has a lotto pool going and even when I see that our tickets haven't won, I scan them intoRead More the lotto machine the next day just to be sure. Measure twice, cut once.

I could swear I've heard where the lottery awarded the money to someone in the same situationRead More somehow. I suppose that no one disputed their claim at that time.

Hey John Rithouse, if you don't like it, then don't come here for news. Guys like you make this sameRead More annoying comment every day. Are you mentally slow?
rubberband April 15, 2014 at 01:28 pm
This was out in my neck of the woods. All really great kids, college bound and starting their adultRead More lives. Having lost a child, I can say these families will mourn for as long as they live, and will have to find a "new normal" as EVERYTHING is changed for them now...I wish them strength, there is nothing quite like burying a child. Appreciated are the messages of respect and sympathy. It can be annoying to get news from areas other than your own, however the new Patch is doing things differently, and show no evidence of changing it back.....my best advice would be to ignore stories not in your area, and to write your editor directly, and share your comments with those who can make changes.
