According to a report on Springfield Patch, a Philadelphia man was allegedly seen leaving a Macy’s store without paying for several bed comforters. When confronted, the man reportedly dropped the items and hopped on a nearby SEPTA bus to leave the scene. Police stopped the bus and removed the man. Next stop: retail theft charges. Read the full story here. Check out some other unusual police reports from the area: Grand Theft Duck: If you know anyone in the Roxborough area who suddenly has two new, unexplained ducks, the Philadelphia police …

Special Needs Registry To Enhance Response Times

Delaware County will implement a new system that will enhance response times during emergencies in assisting those with special needs.

BROOMALL–Marple Township Manager Anthony Hamaday announced at last week's Board of Commissioners work session meeting that Delaware County will be implementing a special needs registry. "We're urging anybody who has the need or a special needs individual who needs special assistance to contact us so we can give that information to the county," said Hamaday. According to Hamaday, the system will help the county as well as local police, fire and emergency personnel to quickly respond to those individuals during an emergency. Though the township used to have a special needs registry previously, the database was not kept up-to-date, according to Hamaday. "At one time we did have a special needs database that was being maintained by Nick Kerber…

I'm not sure the owners of planet fitness own or lease the parking lot. Therefore, can't say they are responsible for anything that happens in it. It's not the police's or Planet Fitness's responsibility or ability to prevent crime. Lock your doors, get a car alarm and upgrade your situational awareness. I'm not blaming victims, but come on... Take some common sense steps to make yourself less of…   more ›
