Will Marple Walmart Workers Strike on Black Friday?

Walmart workers are planning to strike at 1,000 locations across the country on Black Friday.

SPRINGFIELD–Walmart has been receiving backlash from its employees after announcing they will open on Thanksgiving, reports the Huffington Post. A 24-year Walmart associate Mary Pat Tifft, started the ptition after the reailer's announcement that it would open stores at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, according to Huffington Post. So far, more than 30,000 people have signed an online petition on MoveOn.org asking Walmart not to make its employees work on Thanksgiving.  Last year, Walmart opened its doors on Thanksgiving Day at 10 p.m. Steven Restivo, director of corporate affairs of Walmart stores, responded to Walmart opening on Thanksgiving Day with the following: "We appreciate our associates for everything they do to serve our customers …

Stacy maybe you should become a little more educated on the subject before you make a remark. Most if not all of the nonmanagement associates are thankful to have a job. However, the factory workers in China are treated better than nonmanagement associates are. They don't have set hours. Management is cute enough to change schedule hours without notification and then fire them for not showing up…   more ›

To take advantage of the Black Friday deals, you want to make sure you get in the door, while the sale items are still on the shelves, so when do doors open?

Stores across the Philadelphia area are opening early, even as early as Thursday night to start their Black Friday deals. Here are the adjusted hours Patch found: Kohl’s opens at midnight. Nov. 25 is sure to be a day of deep, deep discounts for holiday shoppers. Let Patch guide you through it.

The turkey leftovers have barely been put away, but there's no time to waste for die-hard Black Friday shoppers. On this day, the busiest shopping day of the year, stores offer rock-bottom prices on major ticket items like HD TVs, computers, toys, jewelry and clothing. Retailers are hoping you'll spend, spend, spend on gifts for your loved ones, and shoppers are hoping to score the best deals in town.   It seems each year the deals get bigger and the stores open earlier. Marple Walmart Gears Up for Black Friday Shopping

The new Walmart at Marple Crossroads Shopping Center will begin its first Black Friday sales at 10 p.m. on Nov. 24.

SPRINGFIELD–Marple Township's new Walmart at the Marple Crossroads Shopping Center in Springfield will hold its first-ever Black Friday sales on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, at 10 p.m. and then at 12 a.m. on Friday morning and again at 8 a.m. The store, which was recently approved by Marple's Zoning Hearing Board, will be open for 24 hours during the Thanksgiving holiday to give shoppers an opportunity to shop early on Black Friday this year. The store's general hours are from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Once the approval was made, Anthony Deni, Marple Walmart's store manager, said associates were excitedly volunteering to work during the overnight hours for the big sales event.
