Three were reportedly transferred to a hospital in a two-vehicle accident on Lawrence Road in Broomall.
BROOMALL–At approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, Marple police responded to the 200 block of Lawrence Road in front of St. Pius X School for a reported two-vehicle accident. According to police, the car's driver "wasn't paying attention" and had rear ended an SUV on the northbound lanes of Lawrence Road. The car's driver told police that he was "on his way to vote," according to police. Three passengers in the SUV were reportedly transferred to a hospital for injuries. The SUV was towed from the location. The accident cleared in less than 30 minutes.

Ten people were killed and 172 others were injured in the 552 crashes investigated by Pennsylvania State Police during the four-day New Year’s holiday driving period, Commissioner Frank Noonan announced Jan. 3. "Although the number of fatalities decreased by one compared to last year’s holiday driving period, the number of child safety seat violations and DUI arrests increased," Noonan said. From Dec. 30-Jan. 2, State Police investigated a total of 552 crashes. Of those crashes, 79 were alcohol-related and involved two fatalities. Also, six of the 10 people who died in crashes were not wearing seat belts. Troopers made 285 arrests for driving under the influence and issued 3,408 speeding citations during the holiday period. A moving truck bottoms attempting to make a right turn on West Chester Pike
NEWTOWN SQUARE–A Graebel Van Lines moving truck attempted to make a right turn onto West Chester Pike/Route 3 out of *Woodbrook House Apartments just before 6 p.m. but bottomed out, creating a huge rush hour back-up on Friday, November 18. The long truck attempted to make a right out of the apartment complex onto the westbound lanes of West Chester Pike. A man who lives next to the apartment complex but who asked not to be identified told Patch he has seen the problem before with long, interstate moving vans that are slow slung. WAYNE–Janet Haufler, 54, of Newtown Square, has been charged with an accident involving death or personal injury and duty to give information and render aid after leaving the scene of an accident in Wayne on Nov. 6. According to the police incident report, two of the three cars involved in the accident, which took place at the intersection of Conestoga Road and South Wayne Avenue, had to be towed from the scene. There were minor injuries, including those sustained by Haufler. According to the police report, Haufler left the scene of the accident, which took place Sunday around 4:30 p.m., and left the grill of her 2004 bronze color Jaguar XJ8 behind. A two-vehicle crash involving three sent two people to Crozer-Chester Medical Center just before 11 a.m. on Friday.
BROOMALL–Just before 11 a.m. on Friday morning, Marple police responded to a two-vehicle crash involving three people on Media Line Road and Dogwood Lane. According to Lt. Frank Hannigan of Marple police, a driver of a Jeep Wrangler was driving on Media Line Road toward West Chester Pike/Route 3 when a gray Ford Taurus made an illegal left turn. The impact of the collision caused disabling damage to both vehicles, flipping over the Jeep Wrangler on its driver's side. The Taurus' roof was sawed off by fire officials to free the driver and the passenger in the vehicle. One passenger was taken to Springfield Hospital by Marple Ambulance after a Mercedes and a Honda collided in what appeared to be a minor accident at the on ramp to Route 1 South at I-476/The Blue Route. Multiple ambulances and fire trucks were seen responding to the scene from both directions of Route 1 just before 1 p.m. Sunday. Most appeared to have been called back within a few minutes. Emergency crews on the scene took a woman from the front seat of a Honda Accord which appeared to have been struck from behind by a white Mercedes coupe. *The woman suffered minor injuries and was sent to Springfield Hospital. Maryanne, the truck blocking the road was west of Surrey Drive. So if you made a right turn from Surrey Drive onto West Chester Pike you would run right into the side of the truck! Also, if you read the article it was not an accident blocking the road, it was a truck that bottomed out while exiting an apartment complex driveway. The police did the best they could.
