White Christmas could occur as Santa comes to town.
It might be light, but this Christmas could be white. With a 90 percent chance of precipitation, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 could see some snowfall this year. The National Weather Service predicts a mix of rain, snow and sleet through 4 a.m. Dec. 25. Temperatures will hover around 33 degrees, allowing some chance of Christmas snow. Some Marple Newtown Patch municipalities will see a trash collection change during the Christmas holiday.
Newtown Township's municipal building will be closed for the Christmas holiday on both Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 25, while Marple Township's municipal building will be closed on Dec. 25th only. Below is a trash and recyclable pick-up schedule for area municipalities over the Christmas holiday: Marple Township—Residents on a Tuesday and Friday trash collection schedule will only have trash collected on Friday this week. Residents on a Monday and Thursday schedule will not be affected by the Christmas holiday. Recycling will not be affected as collection is on Wednesdays.
