DUI Arrest Following Two-Vehicle Crash on St. Albans

The Newtown Square man had a recorded 0.156 percent BAC level.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–On Jan. 31 at approximately 4:40 p.m., Newtown police responded to the unit block of Saint Albans Avenue for a two-vehicle crash with no injuries reported. Upon arrival, police observed a Cadillac parked directly behind a gray pick-up, both occupied by only one person in each vehicle. Police approached the driver of the Cadillac and the driver opened his door to which police immediately detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle, according to the report. According to the report, police observed 24 unopened cans of beer sitting on the passenger floor of the vehicle. Blotter: Intoxicated Man Drives Kids Home From School, Passes Out In Kitchen

NEWTOWN SQUARE–On Oct. 25 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Newtown police responded to Echo Valley Lane for a reported domestic incident. Upon arrival, police met with the female homeowner who told police her husband was highly intoxicated and lying on the kitchen floor, according to the report. According to the report, the woman told police she received a call from her children's school earlier that afternoon advising her that her children have not been picked up at school yet by their father. The woman told police her husband eventually picked up the children and arrived home approximately 45 minutes later after the school had initially called, according to the report. Roving State Police Patrol Results in 4 DUI Arrests

The Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks conducted roving DUI patrols during March 2-3.

MEDIA–The Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks conducted roving DUI patrols earlier this month. The Delaware County-wide patrols ran from 11 p.m. on March 2 to 4 a.m. on March 3, according to State Police. The roving DUI operations resulted in the following arrests and citations.

Summons Issued to Newtown Square Resident Involved in DUI Arrest in Bryn Mawr

ARDMORE–Lower Merion Township Police issued a summons on Aug. 22 to Shawn Heard, 18, of Newtown Square, for an incident involving underage drinking and a DUI arrest in July in Bryn Mawr. Lower Merion police officer David Herbst arrested Heard on July 7 around 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of County Line Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue. Heard had a blood alcohol content of .15. He was arrested and charged on five counts–DUI: Gen Imp/Inc of Driving Safety (first offense); DUI: High Rate of Alcohol, BAC of .10-.16 (first offense); Purchase, etc. of Alcoholic Beverage(s) by a Minor; Duties at Stop Sign; and Failure to Yield at Yield Sign. Police Blotter Next Door: Newtown Square Resident Arrested for DUI, Underage Drinking Involved

BRYN MAWR–Lower Merion police said they pulled over a car at about 1:18 a.m. July 7 at the intersection of Bryn Mawr Avenue and County Line Road because it had its high beams on and was speeding. When speaking with the driver, police said the officer could smell alcohol coming from the car, and everyone in the car was younger than 21. Police said the driver, Shawn Heard, 18, of the unit block of Rockwood Road in Newtown Square, had a blood alcohol content of .15 and was charged with driving under the influence.  Two others in the car with Heard were issued citations for underage drinking, police said.
