Last Chance: Marple Hero Scholarship Fund Flea Market Sunday

The Marple Township Hero Scholarship Fund will hold its 38th annual flea market on Sunday, Sept. 16.

BROOMALL–The Marple Township Hero Scholarship Fund is sponsoring its 38th Annual Flea Market, Sunday, Sept. 16 at Delaware County Community College off of Rt. 252/Newtown Street Road and Media Line Road in Marple Township. The Marple Hero Scholarship Fund was established in 1968 to aid in the education of children, spouses, and partners of the any member of the Marple Township Police Department, Broomall Fire Co., Marple Township Ambulance Corps, and Woman's Auxiliary of the Broomall Fire Co., in the event of the death or permanent disability while in the line of duty. All proceeds of the flea market will benefit families of those emergency personnel killed or permanently injured in the line of duty.  The flea market is open from 9 a.m. to…

Hundreds Come Out in Support For the 37th Annual Marple Hero Scholarship Fund Flea Market

The weather may have been cool, but the deals were hot for this annual flea market which raises funds to help provide educational aid for the families of fallen or injured local Marple Township heroes.

NEWTOWN SQUARE—On Sunday, Sept. 18, the Marple Hero Scholarship Fund held their 37th Annual Flea Market. The scholarship helps the education of spouses or children of police officers, firemen, or EMS personnel of Marple Township, who have fallen or become severely injured in the line of duty. Their families are able to apply for the Marple Hero Scholarship to aid with educational costs for high school or college. President for the scholarship fund, Officer Pete Baylor said they are very fortunate to have the scholarship available to the community heroes.
