Last Chance: Moonlight & Movies Wednesday

The last of the summer outdoor movie screenings in Newtown Township will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at dusk at Drexel Lodge Park in Newtown Square.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–Don't forget to save the time: at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday for the last 'Moonlight & Movies' event this summer. Bring your entire family, along with lawn chairs, blankets and snacks for the first of Newtown Township's summer outdoor movie screenings. Make sure to get there early to get a good seat. Chairs will start setting up around 7:30 p.m. This year will mark the fifth year the township will host the free outdoor movie series at Drexel Lodge Park, located off of West Chester Pike in Newtown Square. Tim Chambers’ Journey Creating ‘The Mighty Macs’

Patch interviews director Tim Chambers, a Newtown Square native, St. Anastasia School alum and Episcopal Academy parent, about the film.

Sports were always part of Tim Chambers’ life. Chambers was born in Newtown Square, where he lived with his eight brothers and three sisters, his family practically a team of its own. Growing up, he played football for the O'Hara Lions and the University of Pennsylvania Quakers. Little did he know, he would one day go on to combine his love of sports with a yet-undiscovered passion for film. Several years after graduating in his early 20s with a degree in Economics, brief stints as a free agent for the Philadelphia Eagles, then a stockbroker, Tim Chambers set out to Los Angeles to pursue his real dream—to one day write and direct his own movie. After 25 years of working in the film industry, Chambers’ dream became reality in 2011 with the …
