EA Student and World Class Organist to Perform Christmas Concert With a Cause

Karen Christianson, a junior at Episcopal Academy, will perform at the school's Christmas Concert on Dec. 11 and will donate all proceeds to the Northern Home for Children in Philadelphia.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–At just 16, Karen Electra Christianson has given more than 50 solo recitals and has been recognized as a world-class organist. Christianson, a junior at Episcopal Academy, will perform on Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. at the school's Class of 1944 Chapel. Concert-goers are encouraged to donate $10 or an unwrapped gift, in which all proceeds and gifts will go towards the Northern Home for Children in Philadelphia. The Northern Home for Children in Philadelphia is  a safe haven for children and a safety net for children and families facing extraordinary challenges, according to their website. Broomall Violinist To Be Featured on WRTI 90.1 FM

16-year-old Amy Semes of Broomall will be featured on WRTI 90.1 FM radio's "Crossover" program with music host Jill Paternak on Nov. 19.

BROOMALL–A 16-year-old Broomall resident will be one of the few young musicians who will be featured on Jill Pasternak's "Crossover" program on Saturday, Nov. 19, which airs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on classical music station WRTI 90.1 FM. Amy Semes, of Broomall, will lead off the Nov. 19th show with the first movement of Henryk Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No. 1, according to a press release that appeared in the Cape May County Herald. Semes was part of NPR's (National Public Radio) "From the Top" taping in Ocean City, NJ, over the summer.
