The Kansas-based fast food restaurant specializing in hamburgers and frozen custard has set a tentative grand opening date of Tuesday, Dec. 11.
BROOMALL–The once vacant site of the formerly known Arby's building in Broomall will be reopened as Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers next week. John DiMarco, co-owner of the Broomall franchise, stated that an anticipated grand opening date has been scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 11. A soft opening is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 9. It began as a trip to Kansas University for his daughter, who was recruited by the school for golf. Steve DiMarco–cousin of John DiMarco–said he "wasn't really into fast food" but decided to check it out one day on one his trips to visit his daughter. BROOMALL–Plato's Closet in Broomall is officially open for business. The consignment shop held a soft opening last week and adjusted to their new home in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center. The store relocated from its original spot in the Springfield Shopping Center on West Sproul Road for the larger space in Lawrence Park Shopping Center. "We were literally bursting at the seams at the last location," said CJ Johnson, franchise operator and general manager of the store. "The only criticism we got from our customers was that the store was too small and it seemed cramped." Two new stores will be moving into the Lawrence Park Shopping Center in Broomall.
BROOMALL–Have you been to the Lawrence Park Shopping Center lately? You may have noticed two new stores may be moving in–sooner than later–at former vacant storefronts. Plato's Closet in Springfield–a clothing consignment shop mainly for women–has announced that they will be moving from their Springfield location on West Sproul Road to a storefront in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center in Broomall. The shop will be located next to Radio Shack and Five Guys Burgers & Fries. According to a Plato's Closet employee, the shop has decided to move to its location in Broomall due to bigger space. NEWTOWN SQUARE–Just one year after its grand opening last September, Blush Salon in Newtown Square is already booming with business and boasting in popularity. Though it's only been one year since they opened its doors to the public on Sept. 13, 2011, Blush Salon won Marple Newtown Patch's 2012 Readers' Choice award for best salon in town. The store, owned by Delaware Cigars, will officially open for business on Monday, Sept. 17, and hold the official grand opening ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 22, according to their blog. The Newtown Township Zoning Hearing Board approved applications for both Dunkin' Donuts and Smoothie King to take over the former post office site in Newtown Square.
NEWTOWN SQUARE–The Newtown Township Zoning Hearing Board recently approved a Dunkin' Donuts and Smoothie King to the site of the old post office on 20 North Newtown Street Road in Newtown Square. After hitting a roadblock at the last hearing in July, both the businesses were recently approved by the township. However, Township Manager Mike Trio said the businesses, which will be both located under one building, still have to work on complying their plans with township ordinances. But Trio said he's happy something could fit into the former post office location. "It's good that they're using an existing building and they're able to re-utilize the parking," he said.
