BROOMALL–On Feb. 14 at approximately 8:34 p.m., a truck step van was traveling northbound on I-476 around the 5.9 mile marker in Marple Township when two of the van's tires flew off. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the van was in the right lane and another vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was in the left lane approximately one-car length behind the van. At this point, the van lost both the driver's side front and rear tires–one tire went off the roadway to the left of the travel lanes and the other tire went into the left lane and struck the Corolla. The tire struck the Corolla's passenger side light fixture and fender area. Both the drivers of the van and Corolla were able to drive onto the shoulder. No injuries were report, according…

A Delaware County sobriety check point and increased enforcement resulted in three DUI arrests, 196 speeding citations and 89 warnings last weekend State Police announced.
Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks made three DUI arrest and issued 10 traffic citations and 89 warnings during a sobriety checkpoint over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. From May 25 to 28, troopers investigated 14 car crashes, with none being DUI-related crashes, however there was one injury in a crash, according to State Police. Troopers issued 196 speeding citations, 235 other traffic citations and 53 seat belt violations and four people were cited for not properly securing children in car seats during that time frame, according to State Police. The State Police remind everyone to wear a seat belt and drive safely. Motorists are also reminded that they are required to slow down and use caution when they see law…

The Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks will conduct a sobriety checkpoint within Delaware County this weekend.
The Pennsylvania State Police-Media Barracks will conduct a sobriety checkpoint within Delaware County this weekend. Between Dec. 16 and 18 the checkpoint will occur within Delaware County, State Police announced. Troopers will be targeting aggressive driving, as well as impaired driving. Drivers are reminded to use seatbelts, slow down and don’t follow another vehicle too closely. Also during this time, the Pennsylvania State Police will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort), which is an International organization consisting only of state police and highway patrol agencies. State Police have increased patrols during the holiday season, from Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve.

MEDIA–The Pennsylvania State Police arrested three family members from Drexel Hill in connection with an organized retail theft ring at Kohl's Department stores in the tri-state area. Ismet Fetic, 52, Snezana Fetic, 49, and Emina Fetic, 29, were arrested on Aug. 23 and charges were filed in District Court 32-2-48 for counts of dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, organized retail theft, retail theft, receiving stolen property and criminal use of a communication facility, according to State Police. An investigation began in April after information showed that the mother, father and daughter were stealing high end Kitchen Aid mixers, Dyson vacuums and other products from Kohl's stores throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware…
