MN Football Players Serve Up Casseroles For The Hungry

The Marple Newtown High School football team served casseroles on a Saturday in June to help the hungry and homeless.

BRYN MAWR–Members of the Marple Newtown football team and coaching staff visited Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church on a Saturday in June to make dinner casseroles for those in need.   This is the third year that the Tigers have volunteered to perform this community service. Under the direction of Cathy Whiteside, the boys put together 150 dinners. These dinners will feed 250 hungry and homeless people at twp Philadelphia area shelters–The Bethesda Project and Our Brothers Place in Philadelphia received the meals. MNHS Senior Honored By National Football Foundation

Sean Ridinger, a Marple Newtown High School senior, was recently recognized by The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame with the Scholar Athlete Award.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–Sean Ridinger, a Marple Newtown High School senior, was among 33 HS and 9 college students from the greater Philadelphia area, who were presented with the Football Scholar Athlete Award by The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.   The award was presented at the Philadelphia Chapter annual awards banquet at Villanova University. Andy Talley, head football coach at Villanova and President of the Philadelphia area chapter, led the ceremony, which also honored Mike Kern, sports journalist with the Philadelphia Daily News and other area coaches and officials.
