Some Marple Newtown Patch municipalities will see a trash collection change during the Memorial Day holiday.
Both Marple Township's municipal building and Newtown Township's municipal building will be closed for Memorial Day, May 27. Below is a trash and recyclable pick-up schedule for area municipalities over the Memorial Day holiday: Marple Township—There is no trash collection on Monday. Residents with a Monday collection will have their trash picked up on the next regular collection day which is Thursday. Recycling collection on Wednesday is not affected. Newtown Township–Municipal trash removal is not provided by the township. Please check with your private collector. Recycling will not be affected as collection is on Thursdays.

Both Marple Township's municipal building and Newtown Township's municipal building will be closed for Presidents Day, Feb. 18. Below is a trash and recyclable pick-up schedule for area municipalities over the New Year's holiday: Marple Township—Residents on a Monday and Thursday schedule will only have trash picked up on Thursday this week. Marple Township is proposing to change its refuse and recycling schedule to a once-a-week pickup schedule.
BROOMALL–At a Board of Commissioners work session meeting on April 4, Marple Township officials discussed a proposed plan of changing the refuse and recycling schedule to a once-a-week pickup schedule. Currently, the township operates on a Monday/Thursday and Tuesday/Friday schedule for trash collection whereas recycling occurs on the first/third weeks of the month and the second/fourth weeks of the month.
