NEWTOWN SQUARE–On Oct. 25 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Newtown police responded to Echo Valley Lane for a reported domestic incident. Upon arrival, police met with the female homeowner who told police her husband was highly intoxicated and lying on the kitchen floor, according to the report. According to the report, the woman told police she received a call from her children's school earlier that afternoon advising her that her children have not been picked up at school yet by their father. Matthew Cook's bail was set for $500,000 with no 10 percent cash option.
BROOMALL–Matthew Cook, the 24-year-old ex-boyfriend who was involved in a shooting on Sunday, Feb. 26, in Broomall, was arraigned at 2 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Leon Hunter on Monday. Hunter set his bail at $500,000 with no 10 percent cash option. Cook was unable to post bail Monday, according to court documents. Cook, a resident of Media, was arrested on Sunday night after shooting off a stolen handgun at the doorstep of his former girlfriend's home on Dorman Avenue in Broomall. Marple police responded to the scene, while Newtown police scoured the area in search of Cook, who fled from the scene on foot after a neighbor with their own handgun had approached Cook to release his 9mm Ruger. The shooter, identified as Matthew Cook, 24, was arrested and charged by Marple Police Department. No injuries were reported.
BROOMALL–Marple Police Chief Tom Murray released a statment on mid-morning Monday regarding a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday, Feb. 26, on the 2900 block of Dorman Avenue in Broomall. According to the statement, on Sunday at approximately 8:30 p.m., Marple police responded to the 2900 block of Dorman Avenue for reports of a domestic incident involving gun shots fired. Upon responding to the incident, police received information that the shooter–identified as Matthew Cook, 24, of Media, and the ex-boyfriend of the complainant–had fled the scene on foot.
