BROOMALL–On Aug. 30 at approximately 10:50 a.m., Marple police responded to a reported burglary at a home on the unit block of South Sproul Road. Upon arrival, police spoke with the homeowner who showed police where an unknown person had gained entry into his rear garage. According to the report, the man told police he uses the garage as an office for his business. The homeowner told police he left his home around 2:30 p.m. the day before and returned around 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. when he saw the lights were on, according to the report. The Newtown Township Police Department issued the following statement in regards to a daytime burglary that occurred on Aug. 29 on Mary Jane Lane in Newtown Square.
NEWTOWN SQUARE–On Wednesday, the Newtown Township Police Department investigated a burglary on Mary Jane Lane. According to police,, sometime during the middle of the day, an unknown actor entered the unlocked and unoccupied house, went to the master bedroom and stole men’s and women’s jewelry. Lt. Chris Lunn stated in an email to the public, "This is the first burglary of this type in some time in Newtown Township. However, surrounding townships have been experiencing residential burglaries throughout the summer. In June, the Marple Township Police Department reported two home burglaries that occurred on Redhill Road and another on Cornell Circle in Broomall. BROOMALL–On June 11 at approximately 7:24 a.m., Marple police responded to the 400 block of Redhill Rd. for a reported burglary. Upon arrival, police spoke with the homeowner who stated that sometime between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. the night before, someone had entered the home and removed multiple items from the home. According to the report, the homeowner stated that he had left the home around 5 p.m. and upon returning home around 9 p.m., he noticed a handful of items that were obviously missing including: 2 Macbook laptops, another unknown laptop, a 55-inch Panasonic TV, a 42-inch High Sense TV, two Xbox 360 game consoles, one PS3 gaming system, over 50 Xbox 360 games, over 50 DVD movies, a Honda Cr-80 dirt bike, a KDX 80 dirt bike, and $2,…

The Newtown Township Police Department is asking the community's help in search of a man involved in a daytime home burglary on St. David's Road in Newtown Square that occurred on May 11.
NEWTOWN SQUARE–The Newtown Township Police Department released a statement on Monday asking the public's help in identifying a man who may have been connected to a daytime home burglary on May 11. On Friday, Newtown police investigated a home burglary on St. Davids Road in Netown Square. According to police, the homeowner reported that sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., someone had entered their home through an unlocked rear door of the home and removed a large amount of jewelry from the master bedroom. Newtown Township Police Department issued out an advisory alerting residents of recent thefts that occurred overnight between Jan. 2 and Jan. 3 in the Springton Pointe neighborhood.
NEWTOWN SQUARE–The Newtown Township Police Department released an advisory on Wednesday evening alerting residents about recent thefts from vehicles and homes around the Springton Pointe neighborhood in Newtown Square. According to Lt. Chris Lunn, police investigated a theft from a vehicle on Springton Pointe Drive that had occurred sometime overnight between Monday, Jan. 2, and Tuesday, Jan. 3. "The victim reported that a pair of designer sunglasses valued at $400 was stolen from his unlocked car which was parked in the driveway," stated Lunn in the advisory. Newtown Police reported a distracted home burglary incident on Sunday, June 10, in Newtown Square.
NEWTOWN SQUARE–Newtown Township Police issued out an alert on Monday warning residents to report any suspicious persons or activities that they may be aware of in their neighborhood to police. On Sunday, July 10, Newtown police investigated a distraction burglary incident that occurred at a residence along West Chester Pike/Route 3. According to police, the 80-year-old resident answered a knock at her front door from a Hispanic male who spoke in broken English. The man had apparently told her he was there to talk to her about cleaning up debris in the rear of her property, said police.
