Marple commissioners unanimously approved the preliminary final subdivision plan for Rose Hill Road on Monday night.
BROOMALL–The Marple Township Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the preliminary/final subdivision plan for 27 Rose Hill Road. The approved plan will allow the existing 54,000 sq. ft. parcel to be subdivided into two new residential building lots, according to the resolution. The applicant, Michael Seeds of R.H. Lane, LLC, plans to construct two single-family homes on the two vacant parcels, which will measure 24,000 and 36,000 square feet. In a separate vote, the commissioners unanimously approved the Rose Hill Road applicant's conditional use request to permit a single-family house on each of the R-1 Residential lots to be constructed within areas of steep and very steep slopes, subject to certain restrictions and conditions …

The final land development plan for Phase III of the Ravenscliff Subdivision on Old Marple Road was approved by Marple Board of Commissioners on Monday, Dec. 10.
BROOMALL–In other business, the Marple Township Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the revised final land development plan for Phase III of the Ravenscliff Subdivision on Old Marple Road. The final phase calls for 146 stacked townhouse condominium units to be built in lieu of the 160 mid-rise condo units, which were originally approved for Phase III of the development. The resolution is subject to several conditions, including 100 feet of non-disturbance and a 150-foot berm with landscaping surrounding Phase III's development from its neighbors, said Township Solicitor Adam Matlawski. A trail from Springhouse Development in Newtown Square has prompted a discussion on abandoning the trail altogether and donating the $70,000 in escrow to the township, or possibly connecting it to a township-wide trail.
NEWTOWN SQUARE–Though SAP has "clearly stated" that they would not consider granting an easement on their property to connect to a trail from the Springhouse Development in Newtown Square, Newtown Township officials are considering the possibility of an alternate trail, according to Supervisors Chairman Joseph Catania on Monday night. NEWTOWN SQUARE–Springhouse developer Nelson "Chip" Vaughan and Springhouse Development Homeowners Association President Robert Zakian stood before the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors on Monday night hoping to waive the requirements to install a trail in the development. The trail was part of the final land development application made by Roll International, which was approved by the supervisors 11 years ago on Aug. 3, 2001. The Trail That Leads to Nowhere "Over the period of time tht we did [developed] it, people kept moving in and we always kept getting a little resistance to the idea of this trail," said Vaughan. BROOMALL–The Marple Township Board of Commissioners decided not to pass a motion at a May 14th meeting to approve the construction of a pole barn as requested by Delaware County Community College, reports The Delco News Network. The college sought a waiver request to construct a pole barn, a non-residential accessory structure, behind the tennis courts on campus to store old equipment in which the college is not away to throw out.
