ReplyPolice confirm that there was a second person driving the Jeep when the incident occurred, but no description is available for the driver. Another news outlet incorrectly reported that the sketch is of the driver, who slid over to the passenger seat to talk to the girls.

We only print names for felony charges. The charges in this case, driving under the influence and careless driving, were misdemeanor and summary offenses, respectively.

On the article Guerrilla Signage: This Way to 422

ReplyThanks, everyone, for sharing your thoughts. This homemade sign is one of those things we tend to not notice day after day, and I thought it might make an interesting conversation topic.
It caught my eye while I sat at a red light recently, and it reminded me of the Los Angeles man who made a genuine-looking freeway sign and installed it himself above the busy highway. Richard Ankrom thought the sign was necessary to improve traffic, and it was years before anyone caught on that the sign was not officially sanctioned. (http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Freeway-sign-becomes-canvas-for-artist-in-L-A-2837666.php)
In this case, I thought the 422W sign presented a few questions: If it's necessary, should a real, reflective sign be installed in its place? If not, should it be considered litter and taken down? What would compel a person to install it—perhaps someone nearby tired of giving directions?

I learned a new term. Dinks = Dual Income No Kids, for those who are unfamiliar.
