New Stepping Stones Constructed at Kent Park

The new stones and previous park clean-up are part of the Kent Park Revitalization Project.

Kent Park in Broomall now has new stepping stones after the old bridge was washed away during Hurricane Floyd in 1999.

The stepping stones across Trout Run stream were poured recently, according to Marple Commissioner President Michael Molinaro.

The new stones and previous park clean-up, are part of the Kent Park Revitalization Project, which includes re-opening the pedestrian path on other side of the creek, according to Molinaro.

The new environmentally conscious stone crossing, called a "ford," is in place for pedestrians to cross and the water will intentionally rise above the ford when the water level rises, according to Molinaro.

"This park is a hidden gem in our township with its rock formations and cliffs, creek and hollow setting," Molinaro said.

Future plans for the park include, adding playground equipment behind the tennis courts, improve the dog park, clear and widen the trails for walking, biking and access to Thomas Baseball Field, according to Molinaro.

Kent Park is located at Cedar Grove Road and Parke Lane in Broomall.
