Rt. 252 Road Work Improvements, Timeline

The widening project of Route 252 (Providence Road) in Upper Providence Township is expected to begin this fall, PennDOT says.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is moving forward with its project to widen Route 252 (Providence Road) in Upper Providence Township, between Palmers Mill Road and Kirk Lane.

Construction is expected to start this fall, possibly by the end of September and be completed by December 2014.

Rt. 252 (Providence Road) will NOT be closed at any point during construction, according to PennDOT Safety Press Officer Brad Rudolph.

The bulk of the project is expected to improve traffic flow through the interchange with U.S. Route 1, by widening Rt. 252 from four to five lanes through the Rose Tree Road intersection, and making traffic signal upgrades.
