Several Marple Township vehicles have been broken into in recent weeks, police say. Many of the vehicles were unlocked and parked in resident driveways.

Marple Township Police are investigating numerous thefts from vehicles in recent weeks. Several of the thefts occurred around the same time on the same township streets.

Remember to lock your car doors, even if your car is parked in your driveway.

On June 22, several residents on the 300 block of Robinson Drive notified police that vehicles had been broken into overnight, according to Marple Township Police.

A green Ford F350 truck, which was parked in front of a residence, was broken into and it appeared someone had gone through the center console, according to police. The driver's door was still slightly ajar and not fully closed and the truck had been unlocked, according to police. However, a digital camera and other electronics were left in the vehicle and not taken, according to police, it was believed that only loose change was taken from the truck.

A Tom Tom GPS and about $10,000 worth of electrician tools and supplies were taken from a white Ford F350 work truck that was parked in a resident's driveway, according to police. The truck was left unlocked.

A few dollars in change were taken from a third vehicle on Robinson Drive, which was also left unlocked, according to police.

On June 10, on the 200 block of Central Blvd., a resident discovered someone had gone through the glove compartment of a van that was parked on the street in front of his residence, according to police. About $10 in loose coins were taken, according to police.

On June 9, also on the 200 block of Central Blvd., a resident discovered that someone had entered her husband's unlocked GMC Sierra pick-up truck and removed a small change purse with about $15 worth of change and bills inside, according to police. The empty purse was located on the sidewalk in front of the house, according to police, and the glove compartment was opened and the contents were dumped on the ground.

On June 9, on the unit block of Elm Circle, an unlocked vehicle was entered overnight and a wallet, containing $20 was removed, as well as change from a jar in the vehicle console, according to police. A neighbor found the empty wallet in the bushes, according to police.
