Vans, Equipment, Tools Stolen from Several Broomall Contractors

Two contractor vehicles were stolen and recovered but not before numerous tools and equipment were taken, police say.

Two contractor vans were stolen and recovered recently however the vans were stripped of expensive tools and equipment, along with several other contractor vans which were broken into and had tools and equipment stolen, according to Marple Township Police. 

On Aug. 29, police responded to Feehan Plumbing at 510 Abbott Drive in Broomall for a report of a missing 2005 Ford Econoline Van that was stolen from the parking lot overnight, according to police.

The van, marked with Feehan Plumbing on the sides and labeled “Jake” in the front, had been loaded with equipment, a checkbook and was equipped with GPS, according to police, and the GPS was currently putting its location at 51st and Gerard in Philadelphia.

Police believed that entry to the van was probably forced as the keys were not inside. 

While police were at Feehan Plumbing, WM Henderson Plumbing, also on Abbott Drive, reported a stolen truck, as well, according to police.

The Henderson Plumbing truck had been parked in the same parking lot against the roadway and was also equipped with GPS, according to police.

Along with the stolen Henderson truck, other Henderson vehicles had been entered and had items taken, including some speciality equipment for higher end jobs, according to police.

Two other contractors, also reported thefts from company vans, according to police.

Two vans from AJT Electrical Contractors, on Abbott Drive, were entered overnight and tools were taken, according to police, and entry was made via the lock on the side door.

And someone entered three vehicles from Sciulli HVAC, on Abbott Drive, according to police, and numerous tools were taken.

Marple Police requested that Philadelphia Police respond to 49th and Gerard to look for the stolen vans, since the GPS reported them at that location, according to police. Feehan had also sent two employees to the area in an attempt to locate the vehicles.

The Feehan employees informed police that both the Henderson and Feehan vans were located at 49th and Gerard and appeared to be emptied, according to police.

Philadelphia police recovered the vans and returned them, according to police.

At the time of the reports, the total contents of the vans and estimated loss was unknown. The businesses were asked to comply lists of all damages.
