Election Day Comment

I recently saw a political comment by a local politico making an analogy to the opposing party as a cancer.

How insensitive can one person be to those who have family members or friends that suffer from a debilitating and often fatal disease.  Wow, to make an analogy between a disease and someone who you disagree with on an ideological viewpoint?  Sorry, not even close!

This is a democracy so you can make the statements that were made; but a democracy should have standards. Not attacking people’s points of view with venomous comments is one; it means not calling others people’s opinions cancerous or toxic. Do these types of people really represent your values? Democracy means to make educated choices on candidates that will represent you and the values you embrace.

Another comment was to vote on straight party lines. History has shown that not everyone from either party is the most qualified; as previously stated, vote the person not the party. Establish your independence and vote for who you think will do the best job, not who you are told to vote for.

Have your candidates publicly expressed their views on issues? I have, you know where I am coming from; I have tried to reach out to as many voters as I can through many mediums.
